HOBNOBBING WITH GOBS OF SNOBS:
The Stinkin' Rich and Dirty Money that Built Nob Hill

This tour meets in the lobby of the regal Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill, San Francisco’s most exclusive address. We see distinctive architecture: mansions, hotels, and churches. We learn about San Francisco’s richest people--the Railroad Barons and the Silver Kings. This tour makes its way down Nob Hill and ends in the beautiful shopping district of Union Square. It covers the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906, and the invention of the cable car.
